Coming from famous author Pearl S. Buck, this cookbook is doubly valuable. Buck gives a few details about the cuisine of particular Asian countries. Her recipes are easy to follow and have foods readily available on the American market. Sample of the recipes: Bananas Stewed in Coconut Milk; Mutton Biryani; Mixed Fruit Chutney; Lumpia with Sweet Potatoes (a sort of crepe from the Philippines); Date Candy; Malaya's Beef Curry; Sukiyaki Mongolian Style.
