Smart, funny Anna Bolles, a born athlete and a dynamic teacher, figures God decided to have the last laugh when her life was tragically and irrevocably changed five years ago. Since then she has kept herself firmly grounded in the present with the door marked "future" shut. In matters of romance, Anna never dares to open her heart. Until Joe Malone.

Joe Malone is a man who has everything except happiness--though he sees in Anna a world of possibilities. He thinks he wants a life with Anna no matter what and seems willing to risk everything to be with her. But can he trust himself enough to give their deepest dreams the chance to flourish?

Not my favorite book. Book would have been just as good, probably better, without the foul language.

THE BLURB ON THE BACK OF THE BOOK IS A BIT "OVER THE TOP", BUT SUFFICE TO SAY THAT SALLY MANDEL IS A WONDERFUL WRITER WHO CREATES TIMELESS STORIES AND CHARACTERS YOU CARE ABOUT.

This is a great book! The main character is witty, real, and believable. The story is contemporary, with a touch of romance, but not cliche. It is "boy meets girl" in contemporary NY City, told with humor, real life situations, and a little sadness. I could not put the book down. Read it in one weekend. I highly recommend it.

Just one of the best books and hence author ever ! The characters will remain with me. A very moving story about love, family, friends and HOPE.
