"Stupid, stupid rat creatures!"

"Bone" is a hilarious, poignant fantasy saga told in comic-book form. The three Bone cousins, exiled from their home, find themselves in a mysterious valley, where they encounter princesses, dragons and monsters.

A Publishers Weekly review described Bone better than I could: "Something like a Chuck Jones version of The Lord of the Rings: hilarious and action-packed, but rarely losing track of its darker subtext about power and evil."

"Bone" is a story for all ages that parents can share with their kids.

This volume, "Out from Boneville," collects the first issues of the comic's 13-year run. The whimsical black-and-white art recalls old "Pogo" and "Peanuts" cartoons, and the characters' exploits will have you laughing out loud. Try it. You're likely to get hooked.
