Sometimes you come across a book so great you read it over and over. Sometimes you read a book so poorly written that the only enjoyment you get out of it is making fun of it. Sadly, this falls into the second category. I found this book in a box that had been lying around in our house for years. I picked it up because of the interesting cover and started reading. I was less than one page into it, when I decided it was some of the worst writing I had ever seen. I would say it was probably intended for very young children, except that over half of the stories have terribly tragic, but unimaginative and simple, endings (eg, they answer a call for help only to have both ships blow up, they crash-land on a planet only to become trapped there forever, they stay behind on dying planets in a completely pointless way, etc.). I have to say that I don't see why it was ever published. It certainly isn't worth the time, unless you really need some tragic bedtime stories.
