For several years, I had an online blog and hunters equipment website. Some of the most popular blog articles came from ideas presented in this book.

Theres an incredible amount of info in this little 194 page book. Each page has line drawings that bring the text info to life for the reader. For example, pages 129-130 are about Wildlife Savvy.

The first animal covered is the bear: precautions (where they tend to gravitate to); triggers (what causes the bear to attack people); prevention (things to avoid if you know you are in bear-territory; and finally, encounters (behaviors you need to exhibit in order to stay alive when faced with a bear).

The other animals explained on these 2 pages are: bears, bison, deer, moose, mountain lion and venomous snakes.

There are 13 pages of info on first-aid, including: CPR, shock, external bleeding, head injuries, spinal injury, shoulder dislocation, and many more.

Some of the best pages are about the awful that can happen in the wild outdoors:

- Building survival fires,
- Slides and falls,
- Crossing a river (without knowing its depth),
- If you get lost,

- Wilderness survival checklist,
- Food prep,
- Camp tools,
- How to sight in your gun using the one-shot sight-in method,

- Shows the vital areas for various game, so you can limit the animals suffering,
- Black powder charts,
- What to do if a deer runs off after you have shot it,
- And many more.

The only reason Im offering this book is that my husband has given up hunting.
