This book is by Andre Norton. It is illustrated by Bernard Colonna. I read this book as a child and really enjoyed it. It's about a future world inside of a dome on the earth to keep pollutants out. After many years the dome gets polluted and the older people die leaving just young ones. They have to find a way out.
