Great Series. You really need to read in order. This trilogy is just one big story. Deep in the Valley, Just Over the Mountain, and Down by the River. I read the Virgin River Trilogy and just had to read this one too. Virgin River people visit Grace Valley. This trilogy is kind of a prequel to Virgin River Trilogy. They are both good but Virgin River is my favorite. Great Author.

Carr's books make me wiggle around in my chair and grin from ear to ear. Positive things happen to the good people in Carr's stories, and suitably, but not irreversibly, negative things happen to those who deserve them. I'm really enjoying this trilogy.

2nd in the Grace Valley trilogy and I really recommend reading all of these and reading them in order to follow the main character and others in the story. As I said in my review of Deep in the Valley(book 1), this is a 3 book long romance that doesn't seem to take over the tone of the book..reads sort of like Karon's Mitford series in that you're in a community you come to care for (hopefully!) but with a lot more problems and drama going on. This is my least favorite of the 3 but necessary to keep the story going on to the 3rd...my main problem was my intense dislike of the exbf showing up. His kids were total brats and so was he! I couldn't even bring myself to care too much about their situation but liked the ongoing romance between the main character and her undercover DEA lover and the ending was nice and probably could have ended there since you can pretty much figure it out! But I'm glad she did 1 more story to tie things together.

Just over the Mountain is the second book in the Grace Valley Series. You don't have to read the first book (Deep in the Valley) to love Just over the Mountain, but don't miss it---it will help you understand the characters. Once you read this one, you'll want to read Down by the River. Follow this series up with the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr.

Though visits from her secret lover, undercover DEA agent Jim Post, are as clandestine as they are passionate, somehow it fits with her demanding schedule as the town's doctor-a calling that requires an innate ability to exist on caffeine, sticky buns and nerves of steel.

But how can a secret lover compete with a flesh-and-blood heartthrob from her past? June's old flame has just returned to town after twenty years-and he's divorced. June is seriously rattled. So when the town's most devoted wife takes buckshot to her husband and some human bones turn up in her aunt Myrna's backyard, she's almost happy for the distraction.

Sooner or later, love will have its way in Grace Valley. It always does.

Dr. June Hudson is busy with the clinic, but she does have time for visits from her secret lover. DEA Agent Jim Post is working undercover and can't be seen with June. Since contact is minimal, June is left without word from him for weeks. But June's old boyfriend is back in town and is looking to pick up where they left off.

This is the second book in the Grace Valley Trilogy. The trilogy is more or less one big book cut in three parts, so you must read them in order. In this book, Dr. John Stone's wife helps out at the clinic, much to his chagrin. Bones are found in Aunt Myrna's garden which lead people to believe she killed her missing husband twenty years ago. Birdie's grandsons move into her home and cause havoc throughout town. These stories might not sound that interesting, but I was very entertained. My rating: 4 Stars.
