Be patient and let the system do its job. The members who don't respond will have the book in question removed from their bookshelves. If you cancel and then reorder, it'll just give the non-responsive member more time, because the order will return to the same person with a reset clock.

Don't worry! Someone out there will accept your order! :)

I feel for you.  I have actually just received a book that I had to wait over a month for it to be accepted!!! It kept timing out through lots of different requesters.  It got accepted a few times, but was never mailed.  I was starting to wonder if the book was cursed.  The good news is that the book arrived in pristine condition from the person that finally came through for me.  It was the last book of a series, and I like to get them all before starting the books, so now I can get to reading the other 6 books! LOL

This was my recent experience:

2/20 - Request sent to first member; 2/26 "No answer from sender after alloted time"

Her bookshelf is still there but only has six books: http://www.paperbackswap.com/book/members_books.php?m=TmV0ZWpEc2VsUGM9

2/26 - Request passed on to second member; 3/3 "No answer from sender after alloted time"

This bookshelf now has the message " This member is no longer an account holder." http://www.paperbackswap.com/book/members_books.php?m=N2EyakpUZGplcFE9

3/3 - Request passed on to third member; 3/9 "No answer from sender after alloted time"

This bookshelf is still there and appears to be active.  I'm not certain why the member let the request time out. http://www.paperbackswap.com/book/members_books.php?m=cHVsWG1BQVNCK0U9

3/9 - Request passed on to fourth member; 3/15 "No answer from sender after alloted time"

This is another member who seems to have an active bookshelf, so I'm not sure why there was no reply of any sort.  http://www.paperbackswap.com/book/members_books.php?m=bFZ2UGZpWXI1ZkU9

3/15 - Request passed on to fifth member, who sent pristine book that arrived in just a few days time!!!

Now, I figure that a member has to have several transactions that are ignored before PBS decides to drop them or put them on permanent vacation hold.  I figure every time it happens to me, I'm helping to weed out inactive members.  Luckily it hasn't happened to me very often.  Good luck with your current transaction!  If it's any consilation, I actually received this book within four weeks from my original request since it was shipped so quickly from the member who finally responded to the request.

Thank you Denise, for doing your part to help weed out the inactive bookshelves.  It's a PITA, but you're helping the site as a whole by patiently waiting.  :>)

ROFLOL!!!!

To the original poster, I've been there too--stinks.  But like the others said, it really is best to let the system do it's thing.
