This may be of more interest on a forum that deals with audio books, but I know a lot of us use Overdrive once in a while. smiley Looks like Overdrive is dropping DRM on their audio books.

Here.

Ben writes, "Overdrive, which is one of the main suppliers of downloadable audiobooks to public libraries, announced that it is retiring its DRM-encrusted .WMA formats and pushing everything to DRM-free .mp3s."

HALLELUJAH!

Hate those WMAs with a passion. Love the MP3 format. Plus, with the MP3, you can download a new audiobook sitting in the parking lot of a McDoandls if the one you were listening to sucks. Can't do that with a WMA.

I've been told that WMA files use a lot less space on players--that's their advantage.
