This is a neat 8 page (note in the details - 8 page!) book of activities to go along with Owl Moon. That's what the listed publisher publishes-teacher's aids.
Attempted to clarify author (to include the author of the activities) & description and book edit team declared "Must have had a reused ISBN" and refused to update it to be clear it wasn't the actual book as they claim it could be.
Don't list the actual book--all the details are wrong (pages, publisher, title for that matter). Someone who wants the 8 page Science Series would be justifiably upset about getting the longer book.
Don't list the really nifty Science Series 8 page -- you'll have a receiver whining the author is wrong and demanding their credit back since the 8 page book they ordered is in fact 8 pages.
So basically, this isn't a valid entry in the library, but the book edit team won't fix it to make it match (possibly either, I don't know if the ISBN was actually reused) book. Whatever you have, you'll need to list it as if it didn't have an ISBN.
If you are ordering, you might want to PM and ask--which version do they have?
This book is great!
The author writes with so much description that you
Can actually "hear" the snow in the book.
Brought me back to my cold winter days as a child.
Good one to break out with the kidos.
This is a wonderful picture book for children of all ages. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and set the mood from the very first page. Read is aloud to your favorite child(ren) and go on a nighttime adventure in the snowy woods. You won't be sorry, and will probably never forget the experience.
My family fell in love with this one from an audio book we borrowed from the library. It's a great book about spending time with a child's father in that magical dark time of winter. Is a great read aloud for winter studies or father's day.
In my experience, Owl Moon by Jane Yolen is the best children's book ever. It is a really sweet story of a young girl and her father taking a walk at night in the woods. The illustrator John Schoenherr uses acrylic wash to paint beautiful pictures of their walk. He has hidden in plain sight the wild creatures of the woods. I was caught by surprise more than once, finding an animal for the first time although I had read the book previously. My three year old grandson asks me to read Owl Moon and each time we have a wonderful time together.
