This is a book about the very interesting subject of owls and their predatory habits. Especially detailed is the incidence of owl pellets, which consist of bits of undigested fur, feathers, scales or bones that the owl has regurgitated into a nice, neat, little packet. Owl pellets can then be picked apart or investigated by inquisitive minds to determine what kind of meal was consumed. This book includes bone sorting charts to help identify prey. This was originally part of a kit which included an owl pellet. This is the book only but is quite informative and educational on its own, full of colorful photographs, charts and graphics. The 'yuck' factor often appeals to boys. Owl pellets may be purchased from educational suppliers.
