Interesting account of some children evacuated from London in 1944. Oxford seemed to be a peaceful and safe haven; however, dangers lurked from sources other than bombs. Novelist Kate Ivory is gathering materials and finds much more than she expected to find; in fact, her discoveries will affect her own life in the present. Great read!
