Has anyone heard of this workout or tried it?

My BIL did it last year, and loved it.  Said it was a good overall workout with cardio, weights, and flexibility training.  He lost weight, got toned and looks great!  Plus it was easy for him to do at home.  I think you just  need to buy some hand weights.

I've done 2 rounds of P90X.  Great program!  Let me know if you have specific questions.  It's tough, and to get results it takes commitment in terms of actually doing the workouts (about 1 hour per day), eating well (the program includes an eating guide), getting your rest, etc.  If you stick with it, though, it's worth it.

I'm not sure what your situation is, but P90X is not necessarily a weight loss program nor is it for someone relatively new to exercising.  I believe it is meant for those people who are already in pretty decent shape and are just looking to take it up an extra notch. Of course, it's entirely possible to lose some weight on the program, but I think it is meant for those within 10 lbs. or so of their ideal body weight.  I belive infomercials on it still run, and Beach Body (the distributor) has information on its website.  And I'll say it again - if you want lots of information, input, reviews, etc., check out videofitness.com - for all things related to exercise videos!

When low on money--or time--my husband turns to P90X instead of the gym. I think he looks better when he does the P90X.

I've never done the videos, but I hear them playing, and they sound tough, but the instructor is very encouraging about doing what you can do, and stepping it up as you get fitter.

I will have to do the videos now, since everyone is talking about them. :)

The infomercial is on ALL the time!   Sometimes early on Saturday/Sunday mornings, it's on three channels at the same time!
