I like to purchase my postage and DC here on PBS, but I don't see an option to change the shipping ZIP code from my zip to the one where I actually mail the book.  I live in a very rural area, and the actual post office with my ZIP code is so far away that I literally never go there (about 60 miles). The closest PO to me is about 5 miles away - in another state and ZIP code (it's where the rural carrier leaves any packages that don't fit in my cluster box). Today the postal guy there told me I have the wrong ZIP code on the labels, and that I should be using the ZIP code of the post office where I mail the books.

Is there any way to change that while printing out the label from PBS? I kmow when I use the USPS online site to print Priorty Mail labels, it gives an option to change it.

thanks,

Melinda

I have not found a way to change it. I use PBS printable postage, and it's the same problem - there's no way to change the zip code other than changing your return address. I asked the same question here a couple of months ago, but I never got any reply. I'm in the same situation, the closest PO to me is not in my zip code. I've never had a package rejected for having the wrong zip code, but I know the post office prefers it if you use the correct one. Karen

I have mailed a lot of books/discks from 90292

(mostly cause I work at kinkos and can printed the prepaid postage from there)

even though I live at 90066

never a problem (probally because they are neighboors(zip codes that is)

PO employees, is there more info on this?  I just posted for a similar question, though mine is a local situation, too.
