I had a "Book Mailed to Me" book listed on my account page with the notation that it would go lost on Sept. 1 and PBS would take action at 12:00 a.m. Sept. 2. Today, when I logged in, I saw that it was no longer listed and I had a message saying it had been declared lost. Today is only Aug. 31! What happened here? BTW, I won't reorder as I've been in relatively frequent contact with the Sender and I know why it's "lost." (Long story short: PO mishandled and then sent the book back to her and she had to remail it.) |

Did the sender contact PBS to tell them what happened? I am wondering if PBS manually cancelled the transaction. You can still give her credit for the book once you get it, from your transaction archive. |

I don't think the sender did, as I recently got an e-mail from her saying she had remailed it, or planned to remail it soon. |

I've notice that books sometimes go lost a day or so earlier than they are supposed to. I have no explanaton why though. |

The last time I had a book go lost, it was 2 days before it was supposed to. I'm wondering the same thing as you, Carol. Last Edited on: 8/31/09 12:56 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Same here. I had a book go lost a couple of weeks ago and the system cleared it up 2 days before it was supposed to. I just figured it was becasue the sender's account was marked as "closed or suspended". |

I've also noticed that are marked "lost" by PBS one to two days before it is scheduled by the PBS system. In fact, over the four years of my membership here I've come to expect that. |

Maybe TPTB wanted to get a jump on the weekend? |
