So after 4 years and 156 transactions, I'm probably going to leave PBS.  I've switched almost exclusively to ebooks (It's much easier to slip my phone into my pocket than a 900 page book).  On top of that, my wife is no longer working, so the added expense of shipping is something I can't afford anymore.

My problem is that I have $3.12 in PBS money in my account, which isn't even enough to cover the shipping on a Member Appreciation Book.  Is there any way to get that money out of PBS, or am I going to have to order 3 of the PBS pens, so that the money doesn't go COMPLETELY to waste?

I have some money over on the sister CD swapping site.  Is there any way I can transfer that over to PBS, so that I can at least buy one of the MAB book?

There's no way to transfer $ from site to site, only credits. As far as I know the money is in the account until you use it, either by sending a book or making a purchase in the market.

When I stopped using PBS postage, I had just over $3 left in my account.  Not enough to ship anything, really didn't want any more doodads hanging around, and MAB books were not offered.

I just donated the money to the site to help with their overhead.  I don't know if that's an option for you, but it just wasn't worth me agonizing over $3.

I ended up doing exactly as Zina just said. I'm not planning to close my account but I have too many books in my TBR pile so I am not trading for awhile. Adding a small amount back into my account to make up the difference in shipping so I could get an MAB seemed like a better deal than just leaving that money sit there indefinitely.
