Some here say the PBS team doesn't respond to feedback or seem to care about functions not working. That is not my experience.

A couple of weeks ago I used the "Contact Us" link to tell the team about a problem I discovered. It seems some authors, and of course their books, with initials in their names, couldn't be found in a seach on my WL, even though that is how their names are associated with the book titles on the book pages.

The other day I received a response and was initially confused as I had completely forgotten I had contacted them. This was their response:

"We think this has been fixed now. A search for "P. D. James" (with a space between the initials) shows us ten of his books (plus other books where he is mentioned) and a search for "James R. Benn" yields two results.  Please let us know if you are still having trouble with this."

So, despite having to work on the more important problems, they also fixed a more minor problem I had caught.  I tried the search again with the author's names, including the initials, and it worked. Thanks PBS.

I thought P D James was a woman.

I caught that too. P.D. James is (was---she died in 2014) a woman, as are many other very good British mystery authors with male sounding names, but the PBS staff obviously don't read their works. That's okay with me, as I hope they are spending a lot of their time reading programing manuals. smiley
