I received a book on Saturday that was missing the 1st fifty four pages. I PM the sender and she tells me all the pages were there when mailed. I really have a hard time believing this? Really, what happened to them? I can't imagine the PO ripping out 54 pages before sending the book off to me. The way she worded it just didn't sit well. After I tell her the pages were missing and you could actually see a space in the spine she writes back saying she's sorry I received the book damaged. This person used DC also so she gets her credit and I'm out mine. I even mailed her pictures of the book, now no response at all. Sorry, I just had to vent. I usually don't write about these things in the forums but this was a first with the pages missing. |

Maybe someone can help more, but even with DC, you should be able to document that it was an unpostable book that you received. |

I did already mark RWAP and ask for my credit returned. What I wrote above was the reply. "I'm sorry you received the book damaged." Then going on telling me all the pages were there when the book was mailed. Later I mailed pictures of the book and again asked for my credit to be returned. I haven't received a reply since. |

Was the wrapping torn in anyway? If it was opened by the PO they usually mark on the package or do a quick slap on of tape that looks different then the rest of the package. If the tape did not look like it had been tampered with, then the book was sent that way. If she does not respond then send in the follow up Unresolved report saying she would not return the credit for the book and what the problem was. Make sure you PM her and tell her she has X number of days to return the credit before you do the follow up report. |

You might want to double check your credit registry just to make sure that she didn't actually return the credit. In the one case where I asked for mine back the sender never actually acknowledged doing it. I was about ready to hit the one week mark without a response when I decided to double-check in case my memory was off on how many credits I should have. Sure enough, the credit had been quietly returned. Sara |

You can still go to the transaction archive and indicate the the problem was not resolved by the sender. It will at least document the dismissive way you were treated regarding a rather inarguable problem. I feel like being corny with a "the nerve of some people" but really, I've got nothing...this is a new low for a problem swap in my book. |

The book was mailed in a bubble envelope and the seal was not removed. The PO didn't put the stamp on like I notice on some packages about inspection so I'm sure they never opened the package. I still didn't hear anything from the member and I really doubt I will by the way the PM was worded. |

I would send her one final PM stating that the packaging was obviously intact, no tears, holes or tampering with the seal, so the book had to have been sent that way. Copy and highlight the information from Help showing that the sender should be returning the credit when they send an official problem book. Then say that if your credit is not returned within X days so that yuo may reorder a readable copy of this book, you will be marking the transaction as not resolved to your satifaction. Too many of those could subject her to disipline by the site leaders or even get her kicked off of the site. Sorry you got a rotten egg. Hopefully this person truly is clueless on how she sent the book and not looking to get a credit for an unreadable book. Last Edited on: 8/5/08 9:13 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

This member isn't a new member, been here a few years. I saw the member has very few books on their shelf and is not showing how many books have been received or mailed. I'll wait until the end of the week and if I don't hear anything, it will be marked as not resolved. |
