Read by the author this is an extremely vivid portrait of life in Arkansas in the 1950's. I've talked to people "who were there" and they said so!

This was the first and last Grishham book I ever read. What a bore of a book.

This takes place in Arkansas, and since I am from Arkansas, found it quite interesting even though the names of some places were changed. It is quite true to life in describing the life of cotton farmers.
