Does anyone have a clue why Palin would have the Israeli flag in her office? I'm a little puzzled over this. Most governor's office have the state flag and Old Glory. What is she trying to say here? |

I have no idea. But it reminds me of the book The Yiddish Police Officer's Union by Michael Chabon. |

That book is next on my list to read. I like to spread out my Jewish authors inbetween others. |

Seems like a bit of a political move, to be honest. Even the Israeli consulates in the US didn't have Israeli flags outside until very recently. Palin was governor of a state with very few Jews, but probably had political aspirations for which being pro-Israel is important. Also, she is a member of the Christian Right, which has become very fiercely pro-Israel lately, which could explain the flag as well. It would be a way of signaling her religious beliefs, without having to state them. Just my opinion.... |

One of the other posters PM'd me with info on motives of evangelicals supporting Israel. I feel my curiosity is satisfied. Thanks. |
