Just have to share that I am really loving this book - can't put it down! This is my first title by this author and she is wonderful:-) Its been a while since I read an American frontier period historical and its really wonderful. There is some very graphic description of torture by Indians to their captives however it isn't gratutious imo and very much adds to the believability of the storyline. Oh and the sex is very romantic and VERY HOT!!! ;)

I also read Clare's Ride the Fire a few weeks ago, and that was my first title by her, too. I loved it! This was an original American frontier story set in a time period I really haven't touched. It sure is a great read.

I didn't keep any of them, but I enjoyed most of her historicals.  Carnal Gift and Sweet Release were a little weak, IMO, but overall I think she's a very good writer.  Ride the Fire and Surrender were certainly great, Untamed, slightly less so, but still pretty good.  If you're looking for American Colonial period romances, Clare is probably what you want.

That was one of the first romances I ever read.  I agree great book.  I have several others of hers in my TBR but I never get around to reading them.  I really need to stop joining games.

Ride the Fire is my favorite of hers.  Normally I don't read much American Colonial, but hers I enjoy.

Good.  I think you'll really enjoy it.  I liked it slightly better than Ride the Fire, myself.  There are several similarities between the two, but the heroine of Surrender is a much stronger character.

I enjoyed Surrender very much also. If you decide to read Untamed I'd read a couple books in between the two. While Untamed is a good story, it has so many similarities to Surrender that you might not appreciate it as much.

I second that.  I know this came up when those books were fairly new & a hot topic of conversation.  I would try to space them out.   Untamed is good, but it tends to get a little eclipsed by Surrender, so I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I had let some time go by in between.

OMG you have to read Carnal Gift and Sweet Release because they continue with the family members. I read them at different times and I was thinking I remembered some characters and then I realized it was a series with the characters growing up. I think they were some of may favorite books. I agree Ride the Fire was disturbing but very necessary to have the torture scenes.
