North provides an informed commentary on all facets of parapsychology, including life after death, mind over matter, ESP, and precognition. The cases, research, and theories will be familiar to those already interested in the topic, but North seeks to explain all paranormal phenomena in a novel way. Taking a cue from Carl Jung, he postulates a collective, communal database of human memory that individuals can interact with, consciously or unconsciously. Ghosts and hauntings are audiovisual manifestations. Telepathy and clairvoyance involve information transfer from this database. Visions of the future are probability calculations based on the sum total of all human knowledge. Mind over matter is made possible by tapping into the quantum energies in which this memory is stored. By acknowledging the existence of this communal unconscious and making use of it, individuals and humanity at large will flourish. A speculative essay with a different perspective.
