October 23-25th 2009...

You WANT TO be in Suffern NY...

To hangout with some of your favorite authors at a new kinda event!

Lemme explain.

After a few years of the exorbitant fees and prices of cons like RT and RWA, A few of us decided to organize something where the focus is the reader, and not funneling money out of their 401K and long term investments.

So the Authors After Dark Reader weekend was born. This event is in the same vein of the Lori Foster weekend, and the Lora Leigh weekend, except with a small twist: its for paranormal readers and authors only.

This event will be limited to 200 people, and that includes 50 authors who are even now pouring their support in!

So far the authors attending are:
Jacquelyn Frank
Bianca D'Arc
Joey Hill
Sunny
Sara Renke
Stella and Audra Price
Tilly Greene
Larissa Ione
Patrice Michelle (tentative)
Yasmine Galenorn(tentative)

And there are more signing on every day!

This event will take place in Suffern NY, which is about 50 mins from NYC, and about 1 hour (on the train) from Newark airport. Its in the Hudson Valley, and is probably the ONLY convention to be held in the North East for romance readers in the past 5 years!

The website goes up October 1st, so we will have one year to plan and get everyone pumped up for it! Not interested yet? Lemme give you a sneak peak!

Friday night we will have a Candy Shoppe Mixer, with a make your own sundae bar, and edible centerpieces, along with dome entertaiment (though we are still working that out)

Saturday we will have a bit of programming, a 3 hour booksigning, and a masquerade ball, complete with DJ spinning lots of gothy, dancy and 80's new wave music, a costume contest and even pictures!

Sunday we will have the drawings for the raffle! We are going to have donated gift baskets, and all the money from these baskets will benefit two animal charities, the ACN and the Pets Alive no kill shelter! Raffle tickets will be 1$ each and we are hoping for atleast 20 baskets!

whats the best about this convention? WE FEED YOU. no not crappy food you have to fight for, but 4 meals! 2 breakfasts, a smashing lunch and a dinner that we are really excited about!

And the price? Less then 300$... I'm going to go as far as to say Less then 200... So be on the look out for the website and all the fun and chaos coming your way!

So if your a reader thats close to lower NY, or one that will travel for cons and such, this is the place for you! Is anyone interested?
