Other genre boards have this thread, and I love seeing what everyone else is reading- so why not here? :)

I just started Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh. After listening to the rave reviews for this series and actually getting the books for my TBR pile I *finally* started the first one... so far I'm loving it! It's so well-written and such a pleasure to read that i'm reading it much faster than I normally read, and the world seems fascinating so far.

Great thread .... I hope we keep one going.

I'm nearly done with Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. It's the third book in the Twilight series and I LOVE it! Very well written, romance, jealousy,  nice message (it's a young adult book - ala Harry Potter), vampires, weres ..... oh, humans too. :) What more could I want?! lol  I originally wasn't going to read it since I'm not wholly into anything labeled young adult (liked the first three Potter books but then got bored) even if it has a big adult fan base. But I heard so much about it - I had to start it.  I'm hooked.

I might go straight into Breaking Dawn (the last of the Twilight series books) or I might read one of my cozy mysteries - Acts of Violets by Kate Collins.  Depends on my mood, kwim?! :)

I just bought Turbulent Sea (Drake Sisters, Bk 6) by Christine Feehan so I'm going to start that soon.

My computer hates me and posted this before I was done lol

A few months ago I picked up The Undead next door by Kerrelyn Sparks not knowing it was part of a series.  I WL'ed the first three books in the series, and read the first one, How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire, and then I got both the second and third books in the mail together (from different people!) yesterday, so now I am reading Vamps in the City, with Be still my vampire heart up next!!

at the moment, i'm reading military sci-fi, but the last two books i read were both paranormal - Acheron (Dark-Hunter, Bk 12) by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Turbulent Sea (Drake Sisters, Bk 6) by Christine Feehan.  Acheron was very good, and while it was a little heavy and i needed to take breaks, i couldn't stay away from it for very long until i was finished.  Turbulent Sea..  well, i didn't enjoy it as much as the other books in the series, and i'm not sure why exactly.  i found it very easy to put that one down and go do other things.

I just finished the Cal Leandros series. Nightlife, Moonshine and Madhouse. The fourth in the series, Deathwish will be out in 2009? They are on my keeper shelf.

ooh- Susan -- I love that series -- I have really loved all the Twilight books, and I just finished what she has written from Edward's point of view which is posted on her website -- loved it!!  I also love her book Host --very different from Twilight, and also very good.  It was hard for me to get into at first, but then I really enjoyed it.

Debbie -- I really love the Harry Dresden series too.  I hope you enjoy them.

I am reading Dancing with Werewolves.  I have been putting it off because so many people have said that they hated it, but it isn't as bad as I thought it would be.  Maybe everyone telling me how bad it was lowered my expectations  so I'm ok with reading it.  It isn't a book that I would buy new, but I will read the next one that comes out because I like the premise of the book.  It seems like it could be really good.

I am reading Ivy Cole and the Moon by Gina Farago and it's really good! The author's prose is vivid and tight. It's a notch up (as far as writing quality) from what I've been reading lately.

Next on the list is The Darkest series by Gena Showalter. And I've also got a Lilith Saintcrow series, the Kitty series by Carrie Vaughn, the Betsy series by Mary Janice Davidson, the Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine and tons of others, LOL.

Rachel - as soon as I get done with Breaking Dawn I'm heading over to the Web site to read Edward's POV. It's too bad it got leaked and we won't get a full version but hey .... I'll take a draft as long as it keeps the characters going! :)

I have the first four Dresden File books and can't wait to read them. They'll be sometime soon. Like I said, I have to finish some of these series that I've started or I'm going to start forgetting who's who and what's what in what book! lol

I am taking a short break from Paranormal (that has been all I've been reading lately) to read the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. Next I will be starting a romance short story collection based on dragons. Sounds good. I found a bunch of great Paranormal finds at a local library book swap so I have tons to read (as if I didn't have tons to read before.)

Right now I'm reading Nightwalker by Jocelyn Drake, almost done with it and I'm really enjoying it!

I recently finished Midnight Sun by Meyer as well and wonly wish that she had at least wrote the Meadow Scene!!!!

I have the Dresden Files on my TBR and really want to read them soon!!  I have so many series I'm trying to catch up on though, so who knows when I'll finally get to them!

It looks like the next series I'm going to be reading is the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward.  I really want to read The Modern Tale of Faery by Holly Black, but so far it hasn't come up.  After I finish the black dagger series, I may just go and buy it.

I just finished Through the Veil by Shiloh Walker.  LOVED it!!  The only thing I didn't like about it was you hear at the beginning how the heroine is this kick butt warrior- but you never see her like that in the story.  She actually comes off a bit weak.  I still loved it, but that would have made it so much better.  I posted it before I actually started reading it, because it was a WL book and I'd read some bad reviews.  After I was finished I was almost sad to mail it off to its new home.

Next up is Jinx by Jennifer Estep.  I'll probably start on it tomorrow.

Angela -- I was really looking forward to the meadow scene too.  Ah well.... I guess I will have to be patient, and hope she gets back to that book, that she isn't put off permanently.

I read the  first two Sookie Stackhouse books this weekend and am reading the third one now - it's not in front of me, so I don't have a clue about the title except it's "Dead..."  LOL

Just started Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning this evening--I'm around pg 83, reading between wait times when the dial up snags:lol:

Recently finished: Kiss of Fury, Accidental Demon Slayer, Dark Embrace and Dark Warrior Unleashed.

I went on a little book spree last week and have added to the already out of control TBR pile:  Noah, Hostage to Pleasure, First Blood anthology, Storm Born, Through the Veil and I got an ARC of Insatiable Desire by Rita Herron.

I've been putting off reading the Delilah Street book also since the reviews here weren't very favorable.  Guess it shouldn't let that stop me--I'm sure I've read much worse:lol:  Good to hear that it isn't that bad and I do love a werewolf story=)

I just started The Scot, The Witch and the Wardrobe by Annette Blair.  I like it so far, but it's not really keeping my attention.  It must be a phase I'm going through because everything sounds great, but then I can't read them.  I've started at least 4 books lately only to stop reading them about halfway through.

I am reading the Darkyn series and am on # 3 Dark Need by Lynn Viehl.  So far the books are pretty good. I finished BDB recently and was looking for something similar. Up next I think I will start reading Lords of the Underworld by Gena Showalter. Does anyone know if that is a good series?

Patricia- I LOVE the Lords of the Underworld series, I highly recommend it. I've also heard a lot of people compare Lara Adrian's series to the BDB if you want something similar.

I'm reading Dancing with the Devil by Keri Arthur. It's the first book in her Nikki & Michael series.
