This author is now known as Stella Riley and many of her books are available for Kindle under that name.

I read this back in the day and thought it was well done, if a bit too sentimental for my taste. I'd still recommend it.

From back Cover: A voice to be cherished. That was how Rosalind Vernon, the exquisite mistress of Oakleigh Manor, perceived the stranger at her door. Beset by highwaymen, he had come in search of refuge. But Rosalind, robbed of sight by a childhood accident, had no idea that the voice belonged to a notorious rake. Indeed, the dashing Marquis of Amberley had distinguished himself in gaming room and boudoir alike. Now, stranded by snowfall, he became enamored of his innocent hostess. And she, who had lived in seclusion, welcomed his lively wit and distinctive charm.

Meaning to show her the world, the Marquis arranged for Rosalind to spend the Season in London, and she accepted with delight. Yet as her beauty and grace drew society's favor, so the Marquis grew ever distant. Others branded him a master of deceit, but Rosalind would find he was not only a rescuer of ladies in distress...but the object of her heart's desire.
