Excellent overview of 18th century ideological battles in formation of American political party system. This book series has become a cult classic because the publishing house, Harlan Davidson, was founded by the grandson of the legendary Harley Davidson of motorcycle fame. There are actually biking book clubs that take these books on tour with them and discuss the implications of, say, The Whiskey Rebellion while rolling through the northeastern states. This author, Morton Bordon, is better known in motorcycling circles as "Mort the Fork" -- the quiet, bald guy with a big beer belly who always wears the "If you can read this, then the bitch fell off" shirt and who also formed the men's motorcycling African Violet cultivation club.
