I ordered Book 1  from another member and added Book 2 to the order.  The other member accepted both orders.  Then she found that Book 1 had some wavy pages, so she cancelled the order for Book 1, PM'ed me, and we agreed on another book for me to order. Both books were still showing on my "Books I've requested" tab.  Book 1 was still showing up, but did not have a cancel button.  Book 2 had a cancel button, so I cancelled it, thinking that might clear out both orders.  I only got one of my two credits back, and Book 1 still shows up under Books I've Requested.

I checked my credit registry and it shows the two credits I spent on the books at 8:10, then at 10:12, it shows another credit taken out for Book 1 for "Passed on a Request" and a credit added back for "Request cancelled by Sender" and then at 10:21 the credit added back for Book 2 for "Request cancelled by requestor".  So I am out one credit that I think should be given back to me.  I don't know what "Passed on Request" means, and I didn't pass on anything.  The sender and I have agreed through PM's on the books in our deal, but I don't want to do it until I get my credits straightened out.

I've sent in a question to TPTB to help fix it, but I wondered if anyone knew what "Passed on a Request" was and why I had a second credit taken out for the same book?  I searched the Help documents and couldn't find anything. The other member and I are baffled!

The passed on request means that when the sender cancelled Book 1, it went on to the next person in FIFO. So book 1 was still ordered, it just is going to come from a different sender.

Right, I think that Book #1 went to the next person in FIFO as the PP stated.  The reason it doesn't have a cancel button is likely because the person has already accepted your request and printed the wrapper, after which you as the requestor cannot cancel.  If you don't want Book 1 anymore, and the book has not been mailed, you might PM the sender and ask them to cancel...although if they used printable postage or DC they may not be willing to.

Whenever a sender cancels a request the system will automatically pass the request onto the next person in line if there are other copies posted.

Yup, if you don't want the book you initially ordered as Book 1, you will need to cancel that order, as it went to the next person in FIFO, thus you're still being charged a credit for it. It will just come from a different person--unless you cancel it.

Yep...that's what happened...it went to the next person in the FIFO line.  She had already accepted and printed, but she didn't use PBS postage, so she very graciously cancelled the order and we are all back on track.  Thanks!
