Lately i've been chewing through the Anita Blake novels by Larell K. Hamilton. I checked, curiously, how many passport stamps one of my books has. And it has 8 passport stamps, dating back to 2007!!! That is the most I've ever seen. I'm sure that can be topped...anyone seen a book that can? I think its just awesome that this book has changed hands 8 times by this website alone. Not to mention I've already re-posted it, so it's soon to be 9. By the way...the book is "The Killing Dance" and it's on my shelf if you want to be lucky number 9!!

The most I have is 7. It had been passed around since 07 as well.

I have a couple that have 5 or 6 stamps on them but I got tired of looking. 

The most I had was 4, and I couldn't pass it on because it turned out to be an ARC (I didn't realize it until I went to post it again and realized the ISBN did not match). I wonder if I was the first one to realize it was an ARC or just the first that knew not to post it again.

I have one book with 5 stamps, but most have 1 or 2.

there are 2 books where it has come back to my town...while you expect that, it is funny to me when it is your copy!

I like looking at the passport stamps to see where the book has been, and where it's gone after I sent it out. The Broke Diaries by Angela Nissel has four stamps, and the first one is only from February. The Girls in the Back of the Class by Louanne Johnson has five, and has been passed around since 2006. (I haven't reposted that one yet.)

Doesn't the passport stamp only stay on the book if you keep it on your shelf on hold until you want to re-post it?

I just looked and I have one that has 9.  It was a book that I bought new and posted into the system almost two years ago.

Amy P - Yes. Otherwise the info gets wiped clean.

I'm about to send out one that will have its 8th stamp once my requestor receives it. Aside from a little creasing in the spine, it's still in pretty good condition. It's neat to watch it move around the country.

Actually, if you put the book on your TBR, the passport thing stays with it even if you've deleted it from your shelf. I just checked a couple from my Transaction Archive and they're still there--I delete all books from my bookshelf when they're received, but I do put them on my TBR and post them directly from there.

I looked through a few and the most I could find was 3, but it's not something I even look at very often.
