This is a very interesting book of dog's involvement in history through out time. If you Stanley Coren's previous works, you will enjoy this.

This genre is one of my favorite ways of reading history. In this one there are narratives about famous people and the dogs who have influenced them and the history that swirled about them. Fun to read, lots of material for reference.
