I have a book that weighs just under 4 ounces. I am using a 6 x 9 envelope for mailing. Can I mail this by first class parcel and still use the PBS delivery confirmation?  Postage on 4 ounces is cheaper than Media Mail for 1 pound. ($1.64 ), But I am not sure if I can use the DC, If not, I would not bother to buy the PBS DC for this book. I need a quick answer before I print my label.

I keep hearing there's a lower weight limit (what weight, I don't know) and a thickness limit (which is 3/4") to DC -- less than that, the PO doesn't let you use it, on first class parcels.

I use it all the time. The only problem I have encountered was when a book was very thin and pretty small and it was just considered a letter instead of a parcel. She let me send it with DC anyway that one time but told me I would not be allowed to do that again. So now if I get something that is small and thin like that, I throw in an extra book or a sheaf of paper or something.

I was just going to say, stick a piece of cardboard in the package as well. That would bring it up to 3/4 inch!
