someone mentioned in a post here to "pay it forward" when a kindness is done to you, especially a random one in public life---   so I wanted to tell you about a program our local Christian radio station sponsors, that is, publicizes.

they advertise the date around the holidays and when you go through the drive-through at a restaurant, you offer to pay for the order in the car behind you!

Then when the next car pulls up to pay, they are surprised that a stranger has paid their bill as a RAOK !   Neat, huh?

It is amazing what little things can make peoples day! What a better world it would be if everyone did something little for someone they know or not know. Our radio station does TOY(think outside yourself).  I like that it is easy to remember. They also encourage people to do the fast food thing. Jean

Oh, Sandi, I never thought to do the toll!  that's a good idea and not so random as paying for a food order that could be $2 or $22 !

Just a quick note along these same lines... Being a part of this forum and being able to see the kindness of all the people involved here and letting me help out here has made such a huge change in my life. You all have helped me see things with a much more positive outlook than before. I really appreciate everything you guys do here for each other. I'm glad you shared this Jeanne

The daily newspaper here published its third annual list of unofficial names assigned to each day on the calendar.  And Friday, February 17, is designated Random Acts of Kindness Day . . .

I work at a senior center where they serve breakfast and lunch. Monday when I go to work I am going to pay for a lunch for the next person to come in and order . I have a office near the front desk where I can hear what goes on there but cant be seen. I can sit back and enjoy hearing the happy sounds when someone finds out  there meal is paid for. thanks for the idea.
