I have purchased credits before but this is the first time anyone has requested that I use the Paypal gift option.  As I understand, Paypal charges a fee to the buyer unless they link their bank account rather than their credit card.  Can someone tell me what the seller has to pay if something other than the gift option is used?  I thought you could receive a certain amount of money per month before Paypal charged anything.

Anyway, as someone who was severely stung by having my bank account linked to Paypal, I can tell you that there are some very good reasons for not doing so.  Several years ago my laptop was stolen and within 24 hours, my Paypal account had been hacked into and they were withdrawing money from my bank account.  It took Paypal months to restore my funds.  I just want people who are using that option to know what can happen so that maybe other alternatives can be looked at that are not a hardship to either buyer or seller.
