I read The Good Earth so very many years ago but I remember that I couldn't put it down and continued to read other books by Ms. Buck. This book is an eye-opener to a life of a very talented writer. She overcame so many obstacles in order to get out her "message". A woman who saw China and its' people with compassion and not the "do-good" feeling of the so called missionaries.
A wonderful book for all ages!!!
