STRONG WARNING!!: Ever since I was a schoolboy I enjoyed (and still do enjoy) reading H. Rider Haggard novels. I had started reading Pearl Maiden, when to my horror I found that THIS edition had been edited and altered by christian fundamentalists to suit THEIR view of how sections of the book SHOULD have been written. They actually believe that Mr Haggard would have approved of these changes!! Such arrogant presumption beggars the mind.

If this sort of thing appeals to you, then go ahead and read this edition.
