I was pleasantly surprised with this book. It makes definite, faith-based arguments for some very modern topics without being "preachy". It also tells the story of how a "perfect" family deals with their grief. This is my first book by this author, and I am inclined to look for more books by her.

This was a real good book. I got aggravated with the main character because of her narrow-mindedness; she could dispense advice, but she refused to follow it herself. She learned a lot of hard lessons along the way, and I found myself in her actions more than once.

Angela Hunt never disappoints me. This is another wonderful book about listening to that still small voice, obeying and maintaining the connection once you've established a relationship with God. Her books are always real and I can always relate to them in a very human way in some aspect. Super read.

I had read Angela Hunt's The Note, and was not impressed, but this book floored me! Ms. Hunt tackles some really tough topics in this book and does it in a way that leaves you wanting and wondering for more. I never thought I would even be tempted to go down certain paths, but this book made me wonder ... I found myself hurting and yearing with the characters. Very well done!

Diana and Steve Sheldon seemed to be living the American dream - successful careers, nice home, two great, healthy children. A freak accident happens and Diana, a professional radio counselor, starts seeing the world through new eyes of grief. A devout Christian, she finds herself considering ideas and situations that only a few weeks before would have never entered her mind.

A painful, timely look at a family, their faith and their love.

Good one - I read waaaay too late in order to finish it in one day!

Interesting. I could not relate to the woman in this book but I could to the man. Funny...how different personalities will deal with grief. This was an eye-opening and curious read.

She had the perfect life until the accident. Now science offers an opportunity to replace what she has lost--but at what cost?

Diana and Steve Sheldon had it all--successful careers, nice home, a lovely teenage daughter, an adorable five-year-old son. But when a freak accident ravages their happy family, Diana, a professional radio counselor, finds herself viewing the world through new eyes of grief--and accepting ideas and situations she would have considered unacceptable only a few weeks before.

When a research foundation offers to restore her loss through a medical marvel, Diana is convinced she has found the answer to her family's anguish. Determined to sacrifice anything that stands between her and healing for her broken heart, she proceeds along a dangerous course, never dreaming that healing might prove more destructive than hurt...

As timely as today's newspaper, The Pearl is an honest, heart-rending look at life and faith through a contemporary mother's eyes.

This is a book that will make you think as well as question what you really believe. The story shows how easy it is for Christians to turn from the narrow path into a path not of God when life becomes more than we can handle. Angela Hunt has written another really good novel & I highly recommend it. While many of her books are allegories, this one is more a tale of what can go wrong when we take our eyes off God in the midst of whatever crisis we may be going through.

Another great read from Angela Hunt. A prime example of self will run riot and it's consequences!
