I want to thank everyone who indulged me on the chapters of this novel. My gratitude especially to all of you who took time to comment or write me about this story. Everyone was far too kind and gentle with me. But even as merciful as you were, I got some good ideas and suggestions.

I've pulled the story from the Eclectic Pen as I think interest has about run out and I need to turn back to the drawing board and FINISH the book. This was all something of an experiment for me here, to see if the story could survive long enough to generate a little interest and show some sort of promise. Thank you all for the encouragement. It was never the intent to place all the book here. Indeed, the last few chapters were not written, nor did I know how to write them! But putting the first parts of this story here and talking with many of you has forced/inspired/motivated my little mind to dive deeper into the story and characters. I now understand all of them better and can "SEE" in my mind how the story ends.

I don't know if anyone learned anything about writing from this experiment, but I think I did. Normally I write just for me and let a story play out in my imagination however it wants to "play out." But as I hung each chapter for you, I found myself trying to twist and tweek them a little so they (hopefully) made more sense to you. I HOPE that I was successful and gave some enjoyment in return for your time reading.

There is so much really involved with writing a great story that I live in awe of the authors who can actually do it. I am not worthy to tie their shoes and I apologize to the trees that gave their lives to produce the paper used in printing out my chapters.

Anyone feeling terribly cheated by the conclusion of this project, please drop me a line and I'll tell you who the killer was and why.

Yes I need to know the rest of the story or at least who was the killer and why. I think you should finish this and get it published.

Jim, you most certainly ARE worthy and more! It's a great story and I certainly want to know the ending as well as see it sitting on the shelf at Barnes and Noble!
