Great historical fiction. This was my first time reading a book by this auther, but have since requested all of her books. She really knows how to bring different story lines together and make her characters real.  The story takes place during WWI and is the family saga of the Lytton pubishing company; power, family politics, star crossed lovers...the blend between the have and the have-nots.

I'm looking for more stories with family saga during the civil war, WWI, WWII, early 40's-50's.

I have the next two on my wishlist, but I may need to go buy them so that I can continue the story. I don't want it to be too long before I read the other two. : ) Have you read any of her other books? Are they as good?

I have the first two books and the last one is on the way. As soon as it gets here, I'm going to start reading. I'm glad to see that so many of you are enjoying this series. Now, I can't wait to get started reading!

Thanks for telling me about this series Anne!!! Another friend of mine just yesterday mentioned the last book you told me about, The House at Riverton. She also said it was great so now I'm dying to read it too. I have so many books that I want to read right now, too many to choose from. That's a good problem to have though. ;-)

Valli: I think you will enjoy this series.I think it may take me a while to read the whole series. Each book is at least 700 pages. Also these books are ones you do not want to rush though .They are the type of books you should take your time with and enjoy.

The House at Rivertion is a good book also.I really enjoyed it.
