Edgsr Snow [1905-1972] was one of the outstanding correspondents of his time; his sense of historical perspective, his keen observer's eye, and his incomparably forceful writing is evident in People on Our Side.
Snow worked at various time as a correspondent for the China Weekly Review, the New York Sun, Chicago Tribune, and the London Daily Herald, and also wrote articles for the Saturday Evening Post. He studied the Chinese language, dug into Chinese history, and lived and taught at one of China's universities. He was the first foreigner to visit the Chinese Soviets in Northwest China, and out of that experience came Red Star Over China.« less
