This is the middle book of the Space Trilogy, but it stand alone very well. I have read thousands of books in my lifetime, and this is one of the very best. I read it because it was Lewis, although I do not enjoy sci-fi. It was entralling, kinda creepy, and has very deep spiritual truths. Classic Lewis! Rather reminded me of the style of "The Dark Tower"
