I could not put this book down. I just had to know what was going to happen next. What pulled me to this book was the fact that there were no vampires or werewolves, or otherworldly creatures as is currently popular. The whole secret government experiment was intriguing in that it can be grounded in reality and do we really know what the government is spending money on. I look forward to the next book to see what is going to happen.

I was relunctant to read this book, but it got so many positive reviews, I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. Amazing book, grabs you from chapter one, keeps you guessing without confusing you. Great characters, great plot, gets a little slow and predictable at the very end, but I'm a sucker for happy endings, so I didn't mind. I hope the sequels will have Eric, Petra & Bran stories. A MUST READ, has all the good elements romance, paranormal, & Mystery.

I'm HOOKED on this absolutely brand new series by a brand new sure to be treasured author!! If you want a series that you can get started with from the very beginning, choose this one. If you want a series that is full of paranormal elements but a little different from the typical witchcraft, vampire, werewolfie landscape...choose this one. Not to say it won't be introduced later, but THIS book is solid intrigue and bioengineering and other (can't spoil it for you) wondferfulness. If you find it at WalMart - pick it up. It's really that good. Got some credits here and looking to just order a book - pick it up! Serious! I bought it spontaneously and got it home wondering what I was thinking. Truth was...whatever I was thinking, I need a relapse because THAT was an excellent judgement call! So, in a nutshell. Awesome, awesome, and awesome. Get it. Read it. LOVE it.

I did.

I liked the premise of this book. Its the 1st in the series. The characters were interesting with various "talents". My only complaint was that 3/4 of the way through the book it started to drag & I ended up skimming through the pages to get to the end.

I wanted to like this book. I tried to like this book. I even forced myself to finish it HOPING that it would get better by the end of the book. It didn't and I couldn't.

For starters, the editing was DEPLORABLE. The main character's bird was described as a cocatoo and referred to as a parrot. I let this discrepency go once figuring that mistakes happen but when it happened later in the book within a span of 3 sentences I was totally disgusted.

The story itself could have been good if it didn't sound like something taken straight out of the television show "Fringe". The writing style was amateurish at best and the author obviously hasn't done even a little research into remote viewing and other psychic abilities. Even if the Offspring aren't aware of what they're truly capable of the author definitely should.

I'm not sorry I read the book, but I won't be reading any of the remaining books in the series.

New author, new series. Great new series! There wasn't a lot of back building to bog down the plot. It moves quickly, from the first page, with a lot of action, and likable characters. The story reminds me alot of Firestarter (stephen king). But takes it to a whole new level. The kids of the original "group" are all grown up and want answers. With psychic talents of their own, they find each other and form a bond that is at times funny and sad, but leaves you cheering for them. There are lots of layers under the main story. I am totally hooked!!
