I've had problems in the past with someone offering a deal, but after I've ordered, they cancel the book I ordered without telling me. My request then rolls over to the next person, who is not offering a deal, and I've spent a credit for one book. Because of that problem, I put an RC asking for anyone needing to cancel a book from a deal to contact me so I can cancel it and prevent the roll over. Well, it just happened again despite my RC. What do I need to do to get people to stop doing this? It's very frustrating and wastes my credits. |

I am assuming that the deals you refer to include an additional book or books in addition to the primary book you ordered. Although PBS allows members to make deals to send/receive more than one book for a single credit, the standard swap is One Book - One Credit. If the deal you requested is canceled by the original sender, there is no obligation for the next sender in the roll-over to send more than the one book requested. This is not wasting your credits. You are still getting the book requested, just not the additional freebie(s) offer. |

I know I'm still getting one book for one credit, but I specifically ask for the cancelling person to notify me to cancel the order. It's in my RC for that reason. I certainly don't expect the next person in line to offer a deal. I feel like I'm wasting my credit because I wouldn't have ordered the one book if it weren't part of a deal. |

Teresa, when a deal is cancelled and the order rolls over, you need to cancel immediately. As long as they have not printed, you can cancel. The RC will have zero effect. Constant vigilance is needed to protect yourself. I get emails when someone cancels. Did you receive and email from PBS notifying you the order was cancelled?

It sounds like the person who received the request for the book after the rollover is not at fault. You complaint is addressed toward the original person who canceled. There does not seem to be any way for you to address this issue. I think you are a victum of bad luck. not much you can do about that. |

Yes, my complaint is addressed toward the original person. I would never fault the person that the request rolled over to. Sounds like having an RC doesn't matter since people don't read them anyway. I'll just have to remind people when I order a deal from them each time. I did email the orignal person, and she said she'd make it right. |

Thanks for the ideas, Valerie. I'm not a big email person, so I'll just have to stay on top of it and remind each person I request a deal from. |

Have you considered that having an RC could be the issue? Perhaps once the sender sees an RC they reject request. It is not uncommon in the bazaar to see "have auto request on and RCs off" as a condition. |

Also sometimes the book(s) is/are no longer available and for whatever reason, instead of sending you a PM to let you know that it's no longer available, they just cancel it. Usually, if someone is offering a deal, I will PM them and ask if Book "A" and "B" are still available and wait for their reply. Then I'll order. I'm sorry the deal fell through. Pat |

alot of people cancel requests, deals or not, for having RC's. But usually in deals, they request you have your RC's turned off. |

I post in the book bazaar under wish list multiples and in my ad I ask that books be on auto accept with no RCs, but there's been times when neither of these happen. |
