This course aims to help students become aware of their feelings, to accept responsibility for them and to help them develop effective coping strategies. Strategies one to three of this book examine the ways in which feelings are handled, with the role of perception in influencing the feelings we experience gaining particular attention. Following strategies offer assessment exercises which lead to an identification of behaviour goals and the opportunity for commitment to these using a structured plan for behaviour change. The feelings of anger and depression are examined in-depth as are the ways in which these emotions are managed. Students are also given the opportunity to explore feelings about the "self" and offered suggestions for ways of improving self-esteem. The concluding strategies provide a board game for assessment.« less
