Get ready for a lot of 'after the Napoleonic War' history. Ms. Putney does like to do research. It was interesting and set up the scene. It took more than half of the book to get to the real story. Once I got there I didn't want to put the book down. I liked the characters and the mystery and especially glad I was reading a 'happily ever after' story.
great read,
