I found this site that has a picture of what Jamie is suppose to look like. I was the cover of the first UK version of Voyager. Does this picture do justice of what you see Jamie to be?? It doesn't do it for me. http://www.lallybroch.com/LOL/lairdbedroom.html Last Edited on: 7/4/08 12:19 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Nope, doesn't do it for me either. This guy is way too pretty. And his nose isn't big enough. |

They're all horrible. I saw a rendition - not that long ago and I just don't remember where - and it didn't look exactly how I thought he would, but now I can't think of him any other way! Weird.

DG has a graphic novel coming out in 2009 of the Outlander book. If you go to her website and then click on Site announcement archives...scroll down to 21 Feb 2008.....you will see a depiction of HER Jamie as a young man. If you keep scrolling you will also see HER Claire. Sherri |

In case anyone is like me and needs more specific directions to this, go to her website and in the left navigation bar you'll see "Site Info". When you click on the Site Info link, you get a new page that has Site Information at the top and a list of links - click on Announcements. That will take you to the Site Announcements Archive page, a list of links that are years - click on 2008. Somehow this webpage points to a different website, and the URL at the top remains the same. It took me a lot of clicking to find the link, and I've seen it before and frequent Gabaldon's various websites! The actual url where the graphic novel sketches are located is http://www.cco.caltech.edu/~gatti/gabaldon/site/site_2008.html - hope that helps someone!! Also, in reference to the OP's statement that the first link provided contains "a picture of what Jamie is suppose to look like" - that web page is part of a large fan site, and those pictures are just someone's wishful thinking, not really what Jamie is supposed to look like. I guess when the graphic novel comes out we'll have a better idea of what Gabaldon sees - her artist's rendition of Claire fits her vision but it sure doesn't fit what I see when she describes Claire!! (scroll down further on the page linked above for Claire's drawing.) Last Edited on: 7/4/08 11:42 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

No- not at all! Of course he probably looks different to every one of us who has read the books, but like someone already said, he's too pretty in that one with the long hair. I also picture him with a bit more brawn- these pics make him look too thin. I've seen the pics on Diana Gabaldon's site before, and I don't like the one of Claire- she looks WAY too young for me. She was supposed to be 27 when she went back, and she looks about 15 in that picture. Oh well, that's what is great about books, you can imagine things however you like! |

I agree Lesley. To me Jamie is broad shouldered and rugged. Claire to me looks more along the lines of a young Alex Kingston than the picture on DG's website. Sherri |

Not at all IMHO. Way too pretty; in fact, a bit effeminate looking. |

I agree with Lesley and Sherri too---Jamie to me is broad shouldered and rugged looking. |

No way is that Jamie!! I'll stick with my imagination:) That's way most of my pic's have no heads! LOL |

Janet you are so perfectly correct with your headless men and all imagination - goes for my version of Jamie too! |

I didn't think any of those pics does the Jamie of my imagination justice. I don't really think any picture could. He is bigger than life in my imagination and no picture would do him justice. Sigh... what a hero!! |

I totally agree with everyone else....Jamie is way to feminine in those pics! I picture a brawny rugged scotsman.... BTW....What the heck is a graphic novel? Am I stupid? Jess Last Edited on: 7/8/08 10:32 PM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

Graphic novel is like a comic book. Only it's a novel, with illustrated panels. But don't think regular comic book, think... art-ier. Maybe you should google it so you can see. I'm not explaining it very well. |

Jess, like 300. That was initially a graphic novel. The illustration looks like comic book art - it has the same sort of storyboard art - but it's bound in book form. More like the anime books if you've ever seen those at a bookstore. Last Edited on: 7/8/08 11:36 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
