Very enjoyable story. I felt like the author was a too easy on her main character--there was no price to pay for her mistakes. Moreover, the portrait of Hollis was somewhat unbelievable, in that she is supposed to be such a "mountain of trouble" who has been in the foster care system for all ten years of her life, and yet all we ever see from her is care and consideration for others. However, the characters are well-drawn and likeable and the plot is engaging.

The author gets you interested in the characters right away and then you have to keep reading! Very expressive writing that helps you feel the emotions. The two main characters really need each other for very different reasons. You'll enjoy it!

Not my favorite Giff book. Anyone with a camera will enjoy comparing their photos to Hollis'. How we create memories and of what and sometimes why.
