I'm a great fan of Reginald Hill but I have to say this is the absolute best of his I've read. It was truly delightful.

Reginald Hill's Dalziel and Pascoe series is a great series of books. Fat Andy Dalziel is the chief of detectives for the mid-Yorkshire division of whatever they call the police over there. These stories range from just good to absolutely brilliant. This entry in the series is just plain fun. A front cover quote tells it all: "A tour de force... a mystery without a murder, a thriller without violence, a gem without a flaw." Amen.
