Need help! I ordered 4 books from the same person. Two of them were in excellent shape. The other two were not - one had a huge rip (the size of the book) that had been taped over (obviously!) & the other book had crayon drawings on the inside pages as well as the title page. When I marked them (2) as RWAP, the lady contacted me & asked me to send her pictures. I could gladly oblige her (I have taken the pictures), but I don't know how to get the pictures to her. I really don't want to give out my personal e-mail especially since it an RWAP. If you all could help m on this, I would greatly appreciate it! ;-) |

Folks use photo sharing sites, such as photo bucket. Then you send the URL. I'm sorry I can't give more detailed directions as I have not done this. |

I don't have any experience with this either, but I'm not sure you have to send her photos. I don't remember them being mentioned in the guideline. I'd ask a tour guide or the site. Down at the bottom of the page is a link to feedback. I certainly would not give out my personal email. I'd be interested what type of answer you reciece |

Pictures cannot be included in PMs to other members. You need to upload pictures to a photo sharing site and then either copy and paste the URL or embed a link into your PM. A quick search for photo sharing websites with your browser will list a number of them to choose from. I don't have experience with most of these or have a particular recommendation, but here is a list of some of the sites to help get you started: photobucket, picasa, flickr, instagram, shutterfly, snapfish, smugmug. Good luck!

It is not required, as basically not all members have access or knowledge in how to do it. But it has become a frequent request. I'm sort of the theory that you sent out a book with a taped cover and you were obvious? Really? I know that Flickr will group the photos with any others you have on the site. Not very secure. Photobucket and Flicker are both free sites where you can post your photos and send the other member the URL (meaning the address that starts with "http://") I'm sure there are other free sites. If you use one of those sites only for posting book pics in situations like this, security won't be an issue, since you won't have any other personal pics that would be on the same website. |

It doesn't seem like this should be necessary. I hope this never happens to me. Not only do I not know how to send pictures I don't have a camera either. |

Thank you everyone! I was kind of flustered. I didn't really mind sending the pictures so much as it was just annoying to have to create an account just to put the pictures in! :-( Oh, well! I did do it by using a photo sharing site. This is the first time this has happened to me. It was so apparent to me (crayon & rips) that they were unpostable. The person must not have looked through their books. I can't imagine someone sending it out with those problems considering PBS' guidelines! Oh, well! They did return the credits to me. Thanks again for all of your responses. Very helpful! |

People are not required to send pictures. Senders can also say they aren't going to return the credit too. If you are able to send pictures then it is nice to do so and let them see the problem. Sometimes they miss it, sometimes the book was never read or it was read a long time ago and they didn't inspect it before sending it out. Its always best to keep things friendly and cooperative if you can. |

I use a photobucket account and send links to the photos right in the original RWAP comment box. I figure it'll help reduce the chances of a snarky denial of a problem. So far, so good. |
