I see tons of those pictures at the bottom of posts and most of them I like to look at and read, I think they are cute.  Are there any rules as to those pictures and what they can contain.  I have kids running around and wouldn't want them to see some of those pictures and have to answer "why are those people just in underwear?"  I like looking at them as I said and don't want to disable, it's a nice break from all the text and they have really cute ones I enjoy reading/looking at.  Are there guidelines as to what can be posted picture wise?

The only thing I have ever seen mentioned as not allowed was negative campaign blinkies. TPTB put that ruling down during the election. Beyond that, I have not seen any guidelines, but someone else might be able to give you more info.

I believe, since the signatures are seen in Forum posts, that the Forum guidelines are pertinent to the signature pictures as well.

These Discussion Forums are provided to allow you to exchange thoughts, ideas and opinions on topics that are of interest to you. Please try to keep in mind that although this is a family-oriented website, membership is restricted to those 18 and over, and some mature content and conversation is to be expected. The forums are not intended for viewing by underage children. While we do not permit what is (in our judgment) vulgarity, overt rudeness or anything obscene, we do realize that our membership is adult and will sometimes use the vocabulary of adults. Also, please do not use the discussion board to bash PBS.com or to promote other commercial websites. This is a friendly site! Let's keep it that way.

Just don't post up a picture that you think the admins will judge as vulgar, rude or obscene.  Use your common sense wisely, and try not to offend others -- this is a friendly site!

Edited to fix spelling typo.

Well thanks for clearing it up for me.  I just worry about kids running around behind me and seeing a man in just barely underwear.  What should I do if I feel a picture is inappropriate?  The language isn't a problem, but kids can see the pictures just passing by or coming over to ask a question.  I've got little kids running around, old enough to understand, but young enough that they shouldn't see it.

Rachel: Under "settings" you can turn off the ability for you to see any signature pics.

I've got little kids running around, old enough to understand, but young enough that they shouldn't see it.  - Then you would need to turn off sig pics. I think that using ignore this member would also hide their sig line including pics. I've seen some pretty spicy sig pics that have gotten complaints and as long as they are not over the line to porn (ok, some might have crossed that line!), I believe the site leaves the posters alone and tells the offended to do one of the mentioned options to hide them.

I have sig lines turned off because my monitor used to be visible to the office lobby and some of my swap game gals love hot sig pics. Because I couldn't have them on my screen didn't mean they couldn't have them on theirs so I just hid them. I missed seeing the updated pics of some members family, but, again, my problem.
