It is interesting that, based on three previous ratings and not counting mine, this book only has a 2.3 point rating. And I think I know why. Unlike a lot of other "Miss Silver" books, this one seemed to drag on. Plus, there was a lot more than one killing, which didn't really seem to make any sense.

The book is also very unlike many of the other "Miss Silver" books, especially the ending. In fact the best part of the books were the last two chapters, particularly the last chapter.

I suspect Wentworth did this deliberately. She is too good a mystery novelist folow the same formula again and again.
