I have a book on my wish list, it turned " pink"  and said this book is on hold, it has been pink for about a week now, so what does this mean and when will the book be offered to me ?

The books that are pink on my wishlist are the ones that I myself placed on hold so they wouldn't be offered to me right away. I am still in line for them, just dont want them right now.   You can click the box next to your book on hold and then check "unhold this book" and you will be actively seeking the book again. Hope this helps answer your question.

It's on hold and will not get offered to you unless you un-hold it.

Usually when the book has been offered to you and you accept, all other versions go pink and put on hold so you aren't offered the book a second time.  If you haven't been offered this book recently, maybe you accidentally placed it on hold somehow.  Have you tried taking it off hold?

Its possible it was put on Hold and went pink because (a) you were offered another version (binding) of the same book (b) you were offered the book and clicked on Not Now or (c) you clicked on the box next to it and then clicked on the Hold button at some point.

As long as it is pink, it will not be offered to you. To remove the Hold, click on the box next to the book and then click on the Unhold button at the top of your Wish List.

Books that have a linked version of them that are in process are also switched to pink.  So if there is a hardback and a paperback version, the other copy will sometimes be set to Hold by the system.

Did that make sense?  If there is more than one version of the book on your wish list AND the system has them linked, then the second version will be automatically placed on Hold when one version is in the order process.  (Such as a Wish list offer or a Marketplace order.)

Please note that we do move up the WL when the books are on Hold.  It is good to keep the second versions on Hold until we actually get a copy of the book, then remove them from the WL.  Sort of insurance against lost or damaged books.
